Tesla registered its office in India

Ultimately the prolonged hold back of astounding electric car advancement has arrived in India. The messenger who made it possible and has the mind-blowing charisma in the prevailing scenario is Elon Musk with his bewildering company, TESLA.

According to sources, Tesla will start its company by establishing a research and development (R&D) unit in Bangalore. The three names put forward by tesla, Vaibhav Taneja, Venkatrangam Sreeram, and David Jon Feinstein will serve as three directors of the incorporated entity.

The presumption occupying the space that which model will hit India is analogous to model 3 of tesla.

In the year 2008 Tesla mortars came up with its first car Roadster, a complete battery electric vehicle (BEV). In company tests, it achieved 320km (200mi) per charge; it is the first production car to perform with such unprecedented efficacy. Tesla sold nearly 2,450 Roadsters in over 30 countries. And after that, we all know that there’s been no looking back. In fact, Tesla has emerged as the world’s best-selling plug-in and battery electric passenger car manufacturer.

WHAT MAKES TESLA SO NOTEWORTHY?

In a world where pollution is already at its apex, electric vehicles that are even marking the technological limits off are a complete package that makes it an earnest desire of almost every person.

TECHNICAL VERTICLES ANTICIPATED BY TESLA:

Integrated research is been done by TESLA in different technical domains,

Motors: Tesla manufactures 2 types of electric motors. The oldest one is a three-phase four-pole AC induction motor with a copper rotor. The Newer one is a higher-efficiency permanent magnet motor. The AC induction motor is used in Model S and Model X as the rear motor and the permanent magnet motor is used in Model 3 and Model Y.

Vehicle Next-generation batteries: Tesla uses batteries that contain thousands of small, cylindrical, lithium-ion commodity cells (used in laptops and phones for energy storage). Cheaper to manufacture and lighter than standard cell versions are used. Batteries are placed at the vehicle floor which increases the risk of damage hence multi-part aluminum and titanium protection system is used to reduce the possibilities of damage. For economic benefit, former Tesla CTO J.B. Straubel came up with the idea to use electric cars to charge the grid with the vehicle to grid.

If we believe the analysts, then Tesla had a $42 ($158 versus $200) per kWh advantage over other vehicle battery manufacturers in 2019 because of Giga Nevada battery manufacturing and its advanced engineering.

On September 22, 2020, TESLA announced a Next-generation battery which will feature a tabless battery design to increase the range and decrease the price of Tesla vehicles. Concerning the dimension of the battery, 46 mm (1.8 in) wide by 80 mm (3.1 in) tall it is named the ‘4680’.

Tesla is looking forward to producing 10 GWh of the 4680 batteries per year, 100 GWh by 2023, and 3,000 GWh by 2030. Also, the new batteries will be cheaper and will allow the car to travel more miles. Well, many analysts are saying that the battery pack price which is $100 per kWh will help Tesla to achieve a major milestone as due to battery pack price the price of EVs will be less than that of gasoline vehicles hence making them more demanding.

Autopilot: It is an ensemble of advanced driving assistance system which has automatic lane changes, semi-autonomous navigation on limited-access freeways, self-parking, lane centering, traffic-aware cruise, speed limit check these features are helpful in the reduction of accidents caused due to the negligence and carelessness of the driver.  In September 2014, all Tesla cars were shipped with upgraded sensors and software to support Autopilot, initially which was”HW1 “and then got upgraded to HW2 which includes eight cameras, twelve ultrasonic sensors, and forward-facing radar. After that Tesla came up with HW2.5 an upgraded version of HW2, which was released in mid-2017, with a second graphics process unit (GPU) and, for the Model 3 only, a driver-facing camera. HW3 was released in early 2019.

In April 2019, Tesla came up with an announcement that all of its cars will include the Autopilot software but full self-driving will be provided as an extra-cost option.

On April 24, 2020, Tesla cars have arrived with a new feature for updating autopilot that recognizes the stop signs and will automatically.

360o self-driving: It is an optional upcoming extension feature for completely autonomous driving where there are companies like WaymoCruise, and others who rely on Lidar, in their autonomous vehicle, Tesla has a completely different vision and difficult approaches, ultimately more useful to achieve the goal of full autonomy. They believe to use coarse-grained two-dimensional maps and cameras in addition to radar and ultrasonic sensors as it will be more useful for vehicles self-driving.

As of April 2020, their self-driving software has been trained based on the billions of miles driven by the Tesla vehicles. Since March 2019, a self-driving computer chip has also been installed in their vehicles.

Glass: Tesla glass technology group was announced in November 2016. The roof glass for model 3 was produced by this group and they also manufactured roof tiles, which lighter than the standard ones and also contain an embedded solar collector.

Safety and security: Tesla offers various security features like a security alarm, Pinto drive, Sentry mode, Intrusion sensors, tilt sensors to name a few for ensuring the safety check by undergoing various tests in respective domains which makes their cars more trustworthy and rigorous. However, some security flaws are been reported by Researchers from an Imec research group, which is the largest group of researchers in the field of digital technology. Well, Tesla has recognized its flaws and vulnerabilities and has released and over- the- air software update to mitigate the software issues.
